Personal Information :    

I received my bachelor’s degree in MIS from the College of Business here at Texas Tech and my master’s degree in Technical Communication from the Department of English. I taught public speaking and a course that addressed communication and technology for two years in the College of Arts & Sciences at Penn State University before becoming a member of the Managerial Communication team here at Tech in the fall of 2006. My time on campus is spent teaching this course and providing one-on-one tutoring in the Communication Skills Center.

I am a member of the Association for Business Communication (ABC) and the National Communication Association (NCA). I co-presented a paper at the 2007 ABC National Convention titled “Measuring Course Effectiveness” that centered around the Managerial Communication course and its perceived and actual effectiveness.

My husband of 17 years, Chuck, also a College of Business alum, operates and manages a family-owned trucking business here in Lubbock. We have two sons: Caleb who is 12, and Noah who is 8.
