Dr. Lumpkin holds the Kent R. Hance Endowed Chair in Entrepreneurship.
He is an internationally recognized researcher and lecturer in the areas of entrepreneurial orientation, family business, opportunity recognition,
entrepreneurial learning, new venture strategies, and strategy making processes. Dr. Lumpkin is a co-author (with G. Dess and A. Eisner) of the
textbook Strategic Management: Creating Competitive Advantages, now in its 4th edition. He earned the PhD from U. of Texas at Arlington, the MBA
from the U. of Southern California, and the BA in Philosophy from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia.
