Dr. Douglas K. Peterson is currently a Visiting Professor of International
Corporate Responsibility at the University of New Mexico. Just prior to that he served as Full Professor/Curriculum Consultant in International
Management at the Concordia/Audentes International University in Tallinn, Estonia. Prior to that, Dr. Peterson was Director of the New Jersey
International Business Alliance and a professor of international business at The College of New Jersey.
Dr. Peterson’s primary teaching and research areas are global business, NGO development, and international employee
motivation. Prior to his appointment at The College of New Jersey, Dr. Peterson was a member of the graduate faculty at Indiana State University.
He holds a PhD in Organizational Behavior, International Management, and Strategic Management from the University of Nebraska. Dr. Peterson is
currently developing research in the areas of firm internationalization, NGO effectiveness, globally sustainable business, and employment attitudes
in developing countries. He travels professionally worldwide and served as a Fulbright exchange scholar at Institut Teknologi Mara, in Shah Alam,
Malaysia. He has published in the Journal of Applied Social Psychology, The Journal of Asia Business Studies, The Journal of Leadership and Organizational
Studies, and other journals. Dr. Peterson is Founder and CEO of Business Without Borders/Affairs Sans Frontieres, which seeks to be for the business
community what Medcines Sans Frontieres is for medicine. Business Without Borders/Affairs Sans Frontieres is a 501(c)(3) corporation that provides economic
opportunity in developing countries among people infected with HIV/AIDS. Net revenues go to organizations that provide care and support to people with
HIV/AIDS. Prior to receiving his PhD, Dr. Peterson received his MBA (general management) and BA (political science – international relations) from the
University of Kansas. He graduated from the Beloit Jr-Sr High School in 1980. His sister, Chris Treaster works and lives around Beloit and is
currently the County Clerk for Mitchell County.
