Professor Gardner is the Area of Management Coordinator, Jerry S. Rawls Professor
in Organizational Behavior and Leadership, and Director of the Institute for Leadership Studies.
He is also currently serving as the President of the Southern Management Association. Dr. Gardner’s
research focuses on leadership, business ethics, and social influence processes within organizations.
His research has been published in numerous outlets, including the Academy of Management Review,
Academy of Management Journal, Leadership Quarterly, Journal of Management, and Journal of Organizational Behavior.
